After struggling with both injuries and inconsistencies the past couple of MLB betting seasons, Jose Reyes has bounced back and is in fine form for the New York Mets so far this season. The All Star shortstop leads the National League with a .338 batting average, and has been one of the key hitters on a team that has underachieved for far too long in the eyes of its fans. Reyes has gotten the job done in a variety of areas across the board to become a top fantasy option once again, with his 26 stolen bases among the league leaders and an incredible 13 triples to bank on. While his RBI productivity may not be as good as some other fantasy options because of the Mets’ lack of depth throughout its order, there is every reason to consider him a top fantasy option.
The biggest betting reason is because of the categories that he contributes in for leagues that are based on points for specific statistical sections. Most leagues award that are based on head-to-head action feature categories for triples and stolen bases in which a point is awarded to the winner, and that is why Reyes is such a key fantasy option. No player in the league comes close to his 13 triples, and while home runs and RBI can be found in a ton of other places those stats like stolen bases are much harder to find.
